Nike is no new name when it comes to shoes – they are easily the biggest name when it comes to athletic footwear.
However that does not make them a sure thing – the Nike Air Zoom Ultrafly is proof that they get it wrong at times too.
Let’s see how the Nike Zoom Cage 2 fares when you wear it for a match.
Nike Zoom Cage 2
The first thing you notice about the Nike Zoom Cage 2 is just how comfortable it is to be wearing these shoes. The shoes have plush cushioning inside and they are a welcome surprise.
You immediately want to walk around in the shoes. Multiple people in our group exclaimed that the shoes were probably more comfortable than most shoes they have tried.
The best part was that the cushioning is all around your feet. This prevents the ‘floaty’ feeling that shoes with only bottom cushions have. Your feet are enclosed and the shoe doesn’t feel loose at all because of the cushions.
This makes a big difference when playing tennis. Shoes that are not comfortable severely limit your stamina. Your feet start hurting and you start running around less. That won’t be a problem with these shoes as you can run around them a lot without the shoe causing any discomfort whatsoever.
You will want to wear these shoes all the time – that is how comfortable they are.
The other big thing we noticed when playing while wearing the Nike Zoom Cage 2 was the great breathability. Once again, if a show doesn’t have proper ventilation it severely limits how much you can play.
Your feel start feeling slippery and you aren’t able to quickly react to shots.
You will never have that problem with these shoes. There’s a mesh hidden in the design and you will be surprised at how much air they let inside the shoe.
Playing tennis in the Nike Zoom Cage 2 is fun. There is one small issue – people with small feet may feel like the shoe doesn’t stick to their feet properly. Those of us with wide feet will feel totally comfortable in how these shoes react.
If your feet are narrow you may not be able to naturally move quickly because your feet slide a bit inside the shoes.
Your feet will still be comfortable, but there’s a disconnect between you and the floor. This is only a problem for people with narrow feet and even then it can be easily remedied with the right socks.
The Nike Zoom Cage 2 is another winner by Nike. The comfort and breathability being offered here is unmatched in this price range. If you want to keep on playing and don’t want your feet to hurt, these are the shoes you should choose.
The fact that they look great is just the cherry on top.
