When they announced the SFX shoe and that it would cost less than the Propulse line, most expected some mediocre shoes.
Instead, we got one of the most impressive shoes to date to play in.
The Babolat SFX2 continues the tradition and brings a lot of new things to the table.
The first thing we noticed was how ‘classic’ these shoes looked. Other brands have been experimenting a lot with shoe design, releasing some eye popping displays.
Babolat sticks to its tennis roots and makes shoes like the SFX2 – which look like traditional tennis shoes – and we appreciate it. The color scheme here provides all the modernity that’s needed; the cyan accent on the sides and the front, and the cyan laces ensure that this shoe looks fresh. Let’s take them out to the court and see how they perform.
The first difference we noticed between these and the SFX was that the shoe is no longer as wide as it was previously. Many people had trouble properly fitting in the old shoes and the Babolat SFX2 fixes all those issues. There is ample cushioning inside which ensures that those with wider feet will be just as comfortable as those with narrow feet.
The cushioning provides a great ‘locked in’ feel for the shoe. With some shoes there is a big problem with the fit; you either get shoes that constrict your feet or shoes that feel loose. The Babolat SFX2 walks this line perfectly.
You never feel like the shoe is limiting your moves but are confident enough to make some risky moves because you know the shoes will back you up.
You will definitely be taking more turns and running faster in these shoes. That is because the traction on the Babolat SFX2 is fantastic.
The shoe stops right where it should and the cushioning ensures that your feet stay safe too. The grip of the shoes leaves a little room so you can slide when you need to, but put your feet to the ground and you stop immediately.
It doesn’t get any better than that. The shoes also do a good job of providing support to the feet. You don’t feel like your may roll your ankles and it allows you to play more creatively.
We were also surprised by the durability of the Babolat SFX2 shoes. They could really take a beating without showing much for it. These shoes can be used on a hard court without you having to worry too much about wear or balding. The Babolat SFX2 are a great shoe for people who like to play a bit aggressively and need the foot support that’s needed for quick moves.
They provide a lot of cushioning and support. The design is also pleasing which makes these shoes a complete package.
Babolat is known for making some of the best tennis gear around and they continue the tradition with the SFX2s.
