Adidas Performance Men’s Barricade Club Review
Shoes matter a lot when it comes to tennis, because tennis is a game in which you need precision.
Most people don’t realize how integral shoes are to playing a good game of tennis until they have to play a game wearing bad shoes.
The list of specifications is impressive (a torsion system at midfoot, patented material under the heel, and more), but you only know how good a shoe is when you take it too court. As customary, we took these Adidas shoes and played a few games with them to see how they perform.
The Ease-In Period
Whenever you need to buy a pair of sports shoes, you have to break them in. You should never simply buy shoes because they feel comfortable in the store – walk around in them a bit to get a good feel for them.
The Adidas men’s barricade clubs felt a bit stiff when we started playing, but that was to be expected. The shoes started fitting us much better after thirty minutes had passed, and in an hour they felt perfect. So if the shoes feel strange the first time you wear them, give them a bit of time.
They slightly contour according to your foot and fit better.
The comfort level of these shoes is remarkable because of how breathable these shoes are. You will not be facing sweaty feet even if you play for a long time, because the ample airflow ensures that your feet stay cool.
The cushioning inside the shoes is very pleasant as well.
You never feel like your foot is free inside the shoe – the shoes properly hug your feet – but at the same time the breathable material ensures that your feet don’t feel uncomfortable.
Adidas Performance Men’s Barricade Club Performance
This is where the shoe really shines. The Adidas Performance Men’s Barricade Club has a Adiprene+ cushioning system, which has been developed by Adidas.
The system provides cushioning on the heel and on the forefoot. On the heel the main job of the cushioning is to allow you to come to a stop properly, and it comes very handy when you need to control your speed instantly.
Our favorite feature is that the forefoot cushioning is different from the heel – it is a bit less dense. This has been designed to ensure that when you use your forefoot to stop, there is a bit of a pushback from the shoes.
This pushback has been intentionally designed into the shoe, because it allows you to instantly change your direction. You can be running forward, and if you place your feet right to stop, you don’t just come to a stop but feel like your velocity changing directions.
Overall, we were impressed by the Adidas Performance Men’s Barricade Club shoes. They provide plenty of comfort and performance at a very reasonable price.
We liked the subdued color schemes available for the shoe as well. The shoes showed no sign of damage during our testing either.
